Excellence in safety leaves nothing to chance!

Stop Trains!

Warn People!

Save Lives!

The mobility revolution is well underway, and we no longer raise the question of whether something needs to happen but face the challenge of how to best realize it. With a rise in population, networks are quickly becoming more complex and denser, schedules are tighter and many of the existing network components are reaching their end of life meaning there is a growing need for replacements. The increase in maintenance combined with the more frequented lines lead to less room for downtime, more time pressure and a surge in potential errors. It is our mission at ZÖLLNER to make sure that everyone who walks or works along the tracks gets home safely.

ZGP // Speed Control on Tracks

The ZGP uses a wheel sensor to determine the speed of a passing rail vehicle and compares the measured value with the maximum allowed speed. If the maximum allowed speed is exceeded, the system initiates the activation of the track magnet for emergency braking.

Exact speed data for safer tracks!

Our ZGP has been tested and proven in different settings and for a variety of applications. For heavy rail but also on various lightrail infratsrucutres.

COBRA // Maximum Protection for Track Worksites

COBRA stands for „Control of Balises with Remote Assistance“ and serves the purpose of being able to influence (to brake) a rail vehicle with the help of the additional components (Euro-)Balise and (mini) LEU depending on the dangerous situation (for example in front of a worksite). The system is designed in such a way that the status OK prevents a train from passing and the operator must actively confirm that the track is clear. The confirmation is carried out by operating the control unit, which switches the telegram of the balise by radio. This system works autonomously and independently of higher-level (train control) systems.

Reliable Information, cleared worksites, and safety for everyone involved!

ZÖLLNER has developped different solutions for technical track closures. Find out more here

EKSH // AI-powered train detection

Our AI-powered train detection project demonstrates how powerful the combination of low-cost sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence can be! We analysed 400,000 images captured under a variety of weather and lighting conditions, achieved an 85% detection rate at 30 frames per second with optimised training data, and processed them efficiently: the AI evaluates images directly without storing video footage. The result? A smart, resource-efficient solution for alternative train detection!
