MBL Bahnsicherung GmbH relies on the ZVW system for vegetation work
By using the ZÖLLNER vegetation warning system ZVW, our partner MBL Bahnsicherung GmbH was able to efficiently protect a large number of vegetation works in the Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, and Saarland regions in the summer of 2022. In addition to the clearly audible warning provided by the hearing protection, the focus was on the rapid progress of the work, and the ZVW was convincing on both counts.

What was the task?
During vegetation work especially, where hearing protection is required due to the loud working equipment, a collective warning usually isn’t safely audible. The task for MBL was therefore both to safely warn the vegetation staff of approaching rail vehicles and unintentional trespassing on the track, and to enable work to progress quickly.
How was the task solved?
To accomplish the task, MBL chose the ZVW system. Two ZFS devices were used as manual remote switches and were in radio communication with the ZRC-V control unit, which in turn usually administered four to five ZÖLLNER ZWG hearing protection warning device as required, which were worn by the vegetation personnel.
How did the project go?
The individual warning in the hearing protection and the possibility to work on the move without endangering safety personnel with free cutters or the like made it possible to achieve safe and rapid work progress. The system ran smoothly over the range of operations and contributed to an increase in efficiency.
With the ZVW, we ensure that vegetation workers are safely warned. The ZVW facilitates rapid work progress and increases efficiency while doing away with the need for UV blocking.

The components we used
The ZPW126-10 is a radio-controlled warning device for collective or individual warning in the track area. As the latest component of the Mobile Radio Warning System, it can be used both on the field side and on track construction machines. Acoustic and optical warning devices with the highest safety integrity level (SIL 4) are used for the warning.
