Customer-specific solutions
In order to guarantee safety in the various areas of the railway sector, it may be necessary to find a solution that is specially designed for your specific application or adapted to certain circumstances. To this end, our devices can be modified according to the application. However, new product solutions can also be developed in close cooperation according to your individual requirements.
From the field: Permanent Warningsystem at Infrabel, Belgium
This video shows the interlocking ATW-Tx solution from Belgium.

The ATW-Tx system warns workers in and around the track area of approaching rail vehicles. However, passage for the rail vehicle is only approved when all persons have left the danger zone. This is done by the operator using the ZPW-Tx control unit.
We know that worksite situations are often also associated with considerable time pressure. That’s why we were careful during the development to ensure that the system’s commissioning is quick and easy: When an employee wants to work in a zone, he or she logs in using permanently installed RFID panels.
At present, the ATW-Tx system covers roughly 70% of the stations in the Belgian railway network. As part of the Safer-W project, the ATW-Tx is a first step in the process of modernising INFRABEL’s approach to safeguarding work in hazardous areas, while at the same time significantly reducing the danger posed by rail traffic.
The ATW-Tx system was developed in cooperation with Siemens and in close collaboration with INFRABEL. We would like to extend our thanks to Infrabel and Siemens Belgium, and look forward to further successful projects together! ZPW-I – Maximum safety for employees through restraint
On behalf of and in close cooperation with the Italian infrastructure manager RFI, the MRWS system was extended to include a train restraint function.
Warning of the train journey is done automatically via the train sensor F500. After clearing the site, the operator with the ZRC control unit authorises further travel. This gives the ZPW-I, which is in braking distance to the worksite, the information to allow the journey to resume. The ZPW-I switches the mobile signal and a Eurobalise with tamping function to ‘Drive’. Optionally, a manual release by the operator can also take place (removal of the red flag from the track).
The MPX V3 cable monitoring system is integrated into signalboxes and enables continuous monitoring of the cable infrastructure. Patented sensors are used to determine moisture values in the nodes and insulation values in the cable. Based on the measurement curves, statements can be made about whether and when a cable failure is likely. In addition, the determined moisture values provide information about the possible causes of declining cable quality. The system has been approved for use by Deutsche Bahn and has already proven itself in operation.
